“Epic or Ode to William the Conqueror”’ addresses the experience of crossing both borders and cultures. It also recalls William the Conqueror’s travels to England which resulted in French becoming a major fixture in the English language. ‘Epic’ focuses on the single most common denominator between all cultures: going to the toilet. Both works: ‘Epic’ and “Floors I Have Crossed” were created during Chaussette’s most extensive travels in Europe to date.
